A leading flooring and building-materials distributor in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada needed a complete pallet racking system for its new distribution warehouse at 100 Northland Road. The 198'-6" x 169'-6" (60,502 mm x 51,663 mm) building had to be converted into a high-density, high-throughput storage operation without sacrificing picking speed or forklift safety. Our team was awarded the entire scope: layout optimisation, manufacturing, DDP delivery to the customer's warehouse, and full on-site installation.

| Zone | Bay L x D x H | Bays | Pallets / bay | Positions |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Rack A | 96-1/4" x 42" x 414" / 429" | 98 | 18 | 1,764 |

Both zones use 96-1/4" (8') bays at 42" depth, with upright frames at 414" and 429" where cross aisles cut through the runs. Each bay stores 18 pallets on 40"-wide loads of up to 2,600 lbs, with nine beam levels set on a 42" pitch. Rack A contributes 1,764 positions in 98 bays; Rack B, the largest zone, contributes 2,304 positions in 128 bays.
Rack S mirrors the 96-1/4" x 42" x 414" profile but is kept as a short 4-bay transition run at the cross aisle, holding 10 pallets per bay for 40 positions. It preserves the aisle geometry the customer's trucks need to turn between the A and B runs.
Rack C steps up to 144-1/4" (12') bays and 48" depth on 345" (28'-9") frames, holding 26"-deep long loads rated at 1,200 lbs per position. Forty-five positions per bay across 11 bays give 495 positions. Drop-in panels at each level and dedicated cross aisles keep long-length handling fast and stable.

The complete 125-ton package shipped as a single DDP contract covering export packing, ocean freight, Canadian import clearance and duties, inland delivery to the Waterloo warehouse, and crane-assisted unloading. Our installation crew then executed frame erection, beam levelling, wire decking, cross-aisle and drop-in panel fitting, plumb and straightness verification, and a joint walk-through with the customer before handover. The USD 80,000 installation package removed every coordination risk from the distributor's team: they received an inspected, ready-to-load warehouse instead of a container of steel.
