Case Study 1 — Steel Mezzanine Platform in Aruba

The Challenge

· Limited floor area inside a single-storey building, with no room to extend.

· Remote island location: the platform had to travel by sea as a compact, flat-packed kit.

· Simple on-site assembly using local labour, without special tools or welding.

· Clear engineering documentation for approval, customs and installation.

Our Solution

The platform measures L11030 × W8300 mm with a floor height of H2500 mm, adding approximately 80 m² of usable second-level area at a design load of 300 kg/m². The structure uses 90×140×2.0 mm columns, double K140×50×1.5 mm main beams and K80×50×1.5 mm secondary beams with angle steel, topped with galvanized C200×40×2.0 mm steel floor panels (94 m²). Safety and access include H1200 mm guardrails, baseboards, one staircase (H3000 × W1200 mm) and an upper cargo door (L1800 × W1200 mm). Bracing and back pull rods keep the structure rigid and stable.
